How to Make Money with Gumtree

I’ve posted before about how much I love Gumtree. Several people have asked what I do to make money from it, so I’ve written up a guide explaining exactly how I do it.

This is a step-by-step guide which walks you through exactly what you need to do to earn about £600 a month from Gumtree. It’s written with beginners to Internet Marketing in mind, so those of you who are veterans will probably find it rather tedious (but then you could probably figure out your own method without my help anyway).

In the guide I explain how to register with an affiliate network, choose CPA offers, how to create an offer page, set up an autoresponder and post classified ads.

To download the guide in PDF format, just enter your email address in the form below and I’ll send you a link to the file right away.

    Hi

Once again. Great stuff. Just downloaded the report. Thanks for giving it free, you could have easily sold it for more than $19 because the material inside.

    Thanks

    Thanks Sukh!

I’ve already had a couple of emails from people who are making a little money from it after just a couple of days.

Perhaps I should have charged for it after all!

    Hi,

Received your guide and found it extremely informative- thanks!

Just want to see if I have the ‘formula’ down-

    1) Ad goes in Gumtree offering opportunity to earn some money (from home, for a few hours whatever).

    2) Person reading the ad is instructed to send an email requesting more information if they are interested.

    3) Email is sent (to me) and my autoreply provides them with a link to a blog entry.

    4) Blog entry provides them with (my) affiliate URLs

    5) They would then (hopefully) click on my affiliate URLs, sign up etc. and I make the commission.

    Do I have this right?

Just sounds like a lot of “work” or “hoops” for the person to jump through to get to the affiliate URL…

Have you experienced any difficulty with this?

Also, can you think at what point in the steps you could put a squeezepage in front of them to capture an optin?

    Thanks so much!

    Christine

Yes, you’ve got it spot on.

Regarding the hoops, you’re exactly right. The upside though is that those people who do go all the way through to the affiliate url are by then highly invested in the process and more likely to convert.

Compared with the other methods I’ve employed for these promotions I do get fewer visitors but my conversion rate is much higher - sometimes as high as 60-70%, so it averages out in the end.

I put an optin form at the bottom of the page with my affiliate urls, which gets a handful of leads per day. You could try doing this or even include it as another link in the email response.

    Hi,

Thanks very much for replying to me. I am very interested in trying this system out.

I do wonder though if you have any thoughts on whether or not I should be an ‘individual’ or present myself as a ‘company’.

What I mean, is, should I create my blog as “Christine Jackson” or should I create a blog like “InternetMarketingAlliance” (or make up some other name)?

Do you think that people will respond more/better to a person rather than what they perceive is a company?

    Does that make sense??

    Thanks!

  6. HugePedlar Says:

I tend to go with the personal approach. People seem to respond better to a ‘real person’ than a faceless company, even though you’re essentially anonymous in either case.
